Proofreading Service

What is proofreading?

Proofreading is the revision of the written or spoken text grammatically, spelling and morphology, and the detection of any ambiguity or contradiction in the phrases, with the correction of errors in addition to the placement of punctuation marks. Proofreading represents the end of the text before it is picked up by the public, addressing any haste or ease in which the writer falls depending on the role of the proofreader, who in turn is the last to pass the text and by completing his task, the text becomes ready for publication in public.

What texts need proofreading?

Literature of all kinds needs linguistic proofreading, whether they are original or translated books, novels, literary texts or poetry collections, as well as scientific content such as master's and doctoral theses and research. In addition, some important texts may require special attention that needs proofreading, such as legal documents, commercial contracts, and website content.

This means that the main clients who need to hire a proofreader are concentrated in sectors directly related to the word, such as publishing houses, research centers, media institutions, including media professionals, authors, translators from various fields, graduate students and researchers, in addition to students of Arabic, Sharia, media and law who need to investigate the linguistic integrity of any work they write.

What are the tasks of a proofreader?

First: Matching the original with the digital copy
Second: Correction of linguistic errors
Third: Observing ambiguities.

The most common types of errors that auditors address in the audit process:

Errors are many and contained and the possibility of you as a writer in these errors is inevitably a reality, so you have to be aware of them, especially if you want to do the task of proofreading the writing yourself, and among the most famous errors that are discovered and corrected by auditors:

  1. Grammatical errors: They are errors that occur from the writer in forming sentences correctly, and the proofreaders correct them by following the correct grammatical rules for writing in the language.
  2. Spelling errors: It is one of the most important and dangerous types of errors, as spelling errors would change the meaning of words, leading to the formation of another meaning that may be opposite to the meaning that the writer wants, which may cause misunderstanding in the reader, so it is important to focus the auditor on correcting spelling errors in the checking process.
  3. Information errors: They are errors in which the writer makes information, such as errors in writing names, dates, and others.
